GNA President's Message on COVID-19, Healthcare Facilities' Preparedness Plans Survey
Posted over 5 years ago by Charlotte Endemano
Dear Fellow Georgia Nurses,
As the COVID-19 spreads in the state, I want to encourage you to help quell the accompanying uncertainty gripping our communities.
For the last 18 years, nurses have ranked as the #1 most trusted profession. The current situation offers an opportunity to show that elite status by being a calming influence for the citizens of Georgia. We need to be the example our neighbors, friends, and others want to follow. Having said that, let’s follow the proper hygiene recommendations made by our public health officials and be prudent in the number of supplies we purchase. Also, let’s check in on our neighbors, especially the home-bound.
To stay abreast of the developing situation, the Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) is in contact with the Georgia Department of Public Health, the American Nurses Association and other state nurses associations where the outbreak is occurring. When accurate information is learned or received, GNA will pass it along to you in a timely manner.
2020 is the Year of The Nurse and Midwife, now is the time to show once again why we are the most trusted profession as we lead our community through this time of uncertainty.
Lastly, I’d like to ask our colleagues working at facilities that treat patients to let us know their thoughts about their facility’s COVID-19 preparedness plan by completing the following survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FacilityCOVID-19PreparednessSurvey. It takes 2 minutes to complete it. Please share it with fellow nurses.
Thank you for everything you do.
In-Service,
Richard Lamphier
President
Georgia Nurses Association
