GNA President appointed to the Office of the Georgia Secretary of State’s committee to search for new Georgia Board of Nursing executive director

September 28, 2020- The Office of the Georgia Secretary of State (SOS) appointed GNA President Richard Lamphier, RN to its search committee to find a new executive director "to conduct a nationwide search to find a new executive director for the Georgia Board of Nursing [GaBON].”  

The GaBON is under the Office of the Secretary of State (SOS). Given the executive director vacancy at the Board, GNA had some concerns about some Board functions during the transition to a new director.

“I am pleased to have been invited to serve in this capacity and I look forward to working alongside the other members of the committee to find the most qualified candidates for this very important position.” Stated President Lamphier.

The following individuals were also appointed:

  • Darrell Thompson, RN, DNP, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC – President, Georgia Board of Nursing
  • Richard Lamphier, RN – President, Georgia Nurses Association
  • Jacqueline Herd, DNP, MSN, RN, NEA-BC – Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Grady Health System
  • Jill Case-Wirth, MHA, BSN, RN – Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive, Wellstar Health System
  • Kelly Hulsey, MSN, RN, CENP – Vice President, Patient Care Services, Chief Nursing Officer, Piedmont Hospital
  • Celia Covington, MSN, RN, NE-BC, CPHQ – Chief Nursing Officer, Coliseum Northside Hospital
  • Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick, MD (GA-32)
  • Rep. Jodi Lott, RN (GA-122)
  • Candice Broce — Member, Georgia Board of Nursing
  • La Trenda Tyler-Jones, Office of the Secretary of State, Professional Licensing Boards Division, Director

Good afternoon sir. I attempted to register for the upcoming Georgia Nursing Conference at the website. I paid with my credit card and paypal is asking for another payment. There were two options, paypal or Debit/Credit card. I chose the credit card option. Please may I know what the problem is. I wish to get a confirmation of my registration since writer paid with my credit card. Writer also left a message on 404-325-5536. Awaiting a call back.
