Georgia Nurses Association Immediate Past President Dr. Erica Mills receives the ANA Leadership in Ethics Award.
Atlanta – On February 2, 2026, the Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) Immediate Past President Erica Mills, PhD, RN, NPD-BC received the American Nurses Association Leadership in Ethics Award.

The Leadership in Ethics Award recognizes an individual registered nurse who has demonstrated the highest standards of ethics and leadership in their daily nursing practice, served as an ethical role model, and promoted ethical dialogue and/or scholarship.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive the American Nurses Association Leadership in Ethics Award. To my fellow nurses across Georgia, this recognition belongs to all of us who show up each day committed to doing what is right, even when it is difficult,” expressed Dr. Mills.
She added, “Ethical nursing lives in our advocacy for patients, our respect for human dignity, and our courage to speak up with compassion and integrity. In every setting, at the bedside, in leadership, in education, and in our communities, you continue to demonstrate that ethics are the foundation of trust and healing. I am grateful to stand among you and inspired by the unwavering commitment Georgia nurses make every day to lead with heart, integrity, and purpose.”
Dr. Mills will be recognized at the 2026 ANA National and President’s Award Ceremony on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Washington, DC.
