Georgia Nurses Foundation President Dr. Karen Rawls receives the ANA Mary Mahoney Award.
Atlanta – On February 2, 2026, the Georgia Nurses Foundation (GNF) President Karen Rawls, PhD, MSN/Ed, RN, FANHE received the American Nurses Association Mary Mahoney Award for her dedication and outstanding contributions to the profession of nursing.

The Mary Mahoney Award recognizes significant contributions, by an individual registered nurse or a group of registered nurses, to advancing integration within the nursing profession.
“I am so humbled and so honored to receive this award. Social justice and racial equity are my things! It is amazing to see this work appreciated.” Stated Dr. Rawls.
Dr. Rawls will be recognized at the 2026 ANA National and President’s Award Ceremony on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Washington, DC.
